Kiss Me Now: Best Movie Kisses of All Time

In honor of all impending New Year's kisses tomorrow night, here are 9 of our favorite movie kisses of all time, in no particular order. We'll save the 10th spot for your New Year's kiss. Here's to hoping that when the clock strikes midnight, your kisses are as hot as these, although hopefully they come with less of the drama.  Smooch on! Muah!

1.

Movie: When Harry Met Sally
Kissers: Meg Ryan & Billy Crystal
Background: Harry (Crystal) realizes he loves his best friend Sally (Ryan) and hunts her down to kiss her on New Year's Eve!

2.

Movie: Abandon
Kissers:  Charlie Hunnam & Katie Holmes
Background: Virginal Katie (Holmes) is seduced by charismatic & genius director, Embry (Hunnam).  One of them may or may not end up being a crazy stalker, but this first kiss is a work of art.

3.

Movie: Atonement
Kissers:  Keira Knightley & James McAvoy
Background: Separated by class, childhood friends Robbie (McAvoy) and Cecilia (Knightley) recognize their reciprocal love for each other after Robbie accidentally sends Cecilia a provocative love note.  However, this library scene sets the stage for the heartbreaking turmoil in the rest of the movie when Cecilia's sister sees & misinterprets their love.

4.

Movie: The Notebook
Kissers: Ryan Gosling & Rachel McAdams
Background: If you don't know what The Notebook is about, you've been living under a rock.

5.

Movie: Dirty Dancing
Kissers:  Patrick Swayze & Jennifer Grey
Background: Innocent Baby (Grey) falls in love with a jaded dance instructor (Johnny) & they dance their way to a first kiss and much more...

6.

Movie: Jerry Maguire
Kissers:  Tom Cruise & Renee Zellweger
Background: Jerry (Cruise) realizes his success means nothing if he cannot share it with his wife Dorothy (Renee).  So he interrupts her divorced women meet-up group and utters these famous words "You complete me."  To which she utters back, equally as famous, "You had me at hello."

7.

Movie: Match Point
Kissers:  Scarlett Johansson & Jonathan Rhys Meyers
Background: Though both are with other people, Chris (Rhys Meyers) runs into the rain to pursue emotional Nola (Johansson).  Spoiler Alert: Unfortunately, one of these two may or not kill the other one at the end of the movie.

8.

Movie: Jane Eyre
Kissers:  Michael Fassbender & Mia Wasikowska
Background: Jane (Wasikowska) is heartbroken because she thinks Mr. Rochester is about to marry someone else.  But Mr. Rochester wants Jane as a wife instead of a Governess.

9.

Movie: Cold Mountain
Kissers: Jude Law & Nicole Kidman
Background: Moments before leaving to fight in the Civil War, Inman (Law) kisses Ada (Kidman) for the first time.  This one fleeting kiss sustains their passion and fuels them for the rest of the movie.

Vintage Inspiration: Brigitte Bardot Hair

'Tis the season for romance and big romantic hair.  When it comes to sex kitten, high voltage hair, no one has ever done it better than 60's icon and French film actress, Brigitte Bardot.  When down, her hair was most often in big soft curls that bounced in voluminous perfection.  Bardot was also famous for pulling her hair half-back with a small or large bouffant in the front and accessorizing her half-ponytail with a sweet bow, ribbon, or sporty headband.  Below we have a selection of Bardot's most iconic come hither hair looks.  Scroll further down for some of the best Bardot hair tutorials we could find. We guarantee you'll have a happy new year if you don this sultry look.

Diagram of a Dress: Celebrity Inspiration.

We often look to the stars for dress inspiration.  While we do not have the necessary funds to rock these particular frocks, we can always take lessons from the stars' style choices.  Below we've diagrammed our favorite parts of their outfits.  Make sure to take notes!

Willa Holland teaches us that a nude colored dress can be made more tasteful with aptly-placed glitter.  The beige/pink undertone with silver sequins makes the dress both soft and sexy. Her capped sleeves and soft curls further add to the glamour.  To her right, Kirsten Dunst floats in an easy breezy polka dot dress.  The playful sleeves add to the sweetness of the look and we love how it lightly flairs at the bottom.

Adriana Lima jolts viewers with a deep coral-pink strapless stunner.  The color brightens up winter days and the coordinating shoes show us that matching is once again cool.  The angular bust and mix of textures add more voltage to an already amped dress.  Next to Lima, the always fashionable Leigh Lezark mixes a lux dark jacket, with a soft pink dress. Love the contrast of light & dark.  Also, the coat looks so soft!

Elizabeth Olsen gives us a master's lesson on layering.  We want to follow her lead and pair a chunky textured sweater with a flowy black dress and hot leather tights.  To Olsens' right, Amy Adams dons a body-hugging black dress.  The long sleeves and long-length add to the sleekness of the style.  We also love the hint of lace at the bustline. Va-va- voltage!

Look-at-me Lace.

Blake Lively wowed this week in NYC in a gorgeous Marchesa black lace dress. While Lively's glamour is hard to live up to, we went on the hunt for black lace dresses that could turn heads. These dresses, while not quite the Marchesa perfection, are certainly worthy of stares.  Plus they won't break the bank (ranging from $30 to less than $200).

Sienna Miller: Copy Cat or Coincidence?

Not that we're judging, but Sienna Miller's Burberry gown from the 2013 British Fashion Awards seemed ripped right from the scenes of 2007's Atonement.  Was she purposefully giving a nod to the Atonement dress and her former co-star Keira Knightley?  Was it a coincidence? Or did this usually unique fashionista pull a copy cat move?  Also, the high leg slit reminds us of Angelina Jolie's infamous dress.  We love Sienna Miller, but just saying! What do you think?
